We dance at the beat of every opportunity to celebrate the victories of our college,
but What are we leaving behind for our brothers & sisters another 175 years down the line?
We boast of the magnificent festivals and functions,
but how many times have we ignored some clapping while some sidelined and grumping?
We showcase the rich educational achievements of our institute,
but are we really educated, doctor enough?
We overemphasize the rich history of our rightful ancestors,
What is our share in this esteemed legacy?
We are happily counting now, the years begone,
but how many of us have counted or even seen the tears of our helpless patients?
We are happy that our college is helping in this pandemic,
but how many of us will turn up, if she cries of hapless help?
We shout at the world about our superb patient care,
but how many genuinely care for the wellbeing of his ‘friend’ standing right beside?
We brag about our colleges glowing glory,
for a change, why not brag about the lines that divide us, internally and externally?
We shout and thump excitedly our beloved song,
When are we going to sing it rhythmically…together?
We display and shout through our windows our swaggering loyalty to our college,
but in how many hearts does the spirit truly lives & beats?
We say we are proud to be GMCites,
but the real question is,
Are we GMCite enough?
Fin.
